EU4Youth program supports IT training in Armenia
EU4Youth program is providing opportunities for young people in Armenia to learn English and gain computer literacy.
Starting from March this year, over hundred students at colleges in Ararat, Gavar, Stepanavan and Alaverdi, as well as members of youth clubs and agricultural training colleges have been following lessons provided by the project.
A total of 56 young people followed English courses and 58 were enrolled in computer classes. Many of them plan to pursue their studies after the completion of this course.
A baseline survey carried out by the project showed significant demand for this kind of training among Armenian youth, which will help beneficiaries to find employment.
The classes are organized by the ‘EU4Youth SAY YES – Skills for Jobs’ project, funded as part of the EU4Youth Initiative. The project contributes to the (self)-employability of young women and men aged between the ages of 15 and 35 in Armenia and Georgia, particularly those with fewer opportunities and from the most vulnerable groups.
