Ukraine’s presidential office names digital economy development priority for the country
Mykhailo Fedorov, an adviser to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, said this during a meeting with representatives of the American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine, where he presented a digital action plan.
“The development of digital economy should be the number one priority for Ukraine. We must implement a digital transformation of existing sectors of the economy and create favorable conditions for new ones. Otherwise, we can lag behind the leading economies of the world forever. Together with the core business and the public, we defined clear aims and purposes until 2024,” Fedorov stressed.
He added that Ukraine was very interested in attracting members of the American Chamber of Commerce to the development of joint projects in broadband Internet, electronic identification, etc.
During the meeting, representatives of American business focused on the problematic issues of work in Ukraine, including searches in IT companies, taxation of the IT industry and access to infrastructure for placement of telecommunications equipment providers.
All these proposals will be elaborated by the Office of the President of Ukraine in order to attract innovative American businesses to the development of the digital sector in Ukraine.
