The first StrategEast EPAM IT HUB in Eurasia officially opened in Tbilisi
On February 22 the first educational StrategEast EPAM IT HUB in the Eurasian region was officially opened. The launch of the new educational center in Tbilsi, Georgia is carried out jointly by StrategEast and the leading American engineering company EPAM Systems in cooperation with the Georgia’s Innovation and Technology Agency of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia.
The event opening keynote speakers included Irakli Nadareishvili, Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, Anatoly Motkin, StrategEast Founder and President, Vadim Zelenkov, EPAM Training and Development Director, Givi Sartania, CEO at Wandio LLC, a Georgian software development company. The discussion was moderated by Mariam Lashkhi, Deputy Chairperson at Georgia’s Innovation and Technology Agency.
The main goal of IT HUB Tbilisi is to increase the number of qualified personnel in the IT field, create high-paying jobs, expand the capabilities of technological entrepreneurship, attract foreign direct investment, and export IT services. The training program will be conducted according to the world standards by the best EPAM teachers and provide graduates with the opportunity to receive highly paid work in the IT field upon graduation.
The training center includes five professions, including front-end developer, ASP.NET developer, JAVA developer, Android app developer, and QA engineer. During the first year of operation, IT HUB Tbilisi plan to graduate over 100 high-level programmers.
The holders of the program – StrategEast and EPAM – plan to open similar centers in the regions of Georgia in the near future and build the foundation of the Georgian innovation ecosystem within a few years, which will not only attract new foreign direct investments, but also increase the capitalization of local IT companies.
