New telecoms legislation in Ukraine to provide consumer protection, transparent rules and EU integration
On 5 February, the Ukrainian Parliament registered a draft law, jointly written by the Better Regulation Delivery Office (BRDO), parliament committee experts and market participants.
The document lays the groundwork for a comprehensive reform in the telecommunications sector, and aims to protect consumer rights, improve internet access across the country and create more predictable and stable conditions for telecom operators.
According to the BRDO, the current digital divide prevents millions of Ukrainians from taking advantage of high-quality digital services and modern educational opportunities, as well as from unlocking their full entrepreneurial potential.
